Break

Break me open
My soul is wounded.
Broken down,
My life has drowned.

Open wide earth with your giant mouth,
I was given birth and I am in the deep south.

Choking, dieing, deep inside.
Choke me whole with all your pride.

Hurtful word, harmful scowl.
Traditions follow with a growl.

Break me down,
down deep in side.
I will drown,
Drown me with pride.
